The act adds a new Section 912 prohibiting online sweepstakes games in New York. Unusually for this wave of statutes, it takes effect the day it is signed: the bill closes with "This act shall take effect immediately" rather than setting a future operative date, so there was no wind-down window.

Penalty

A fine of not less than $10,000 and not more than $100,000 for each violation, and the loss of a gaming license or ineligibility to hold one. Each violation is counted separately.
